Penguin Party

Check out this “Cool” Penguin party 🙂 I made this card for a friend to give her parents for Christmas. It was well received after all the Penguins are quite a surprise when you open up the card.

The stars of this show were all created using the “Chilly the Penguin” die from Karen Burniston. The sunglasses, the hat, and the scarf on the back right penguin are all Karen Burniston accessories dies.

All the cardstock, designer paper, stamps and ink used are from Stampin’ Up. As is the dies used to make the scarf on the front left penguin and earmuffs.

Ribbons on the gifts were made using quilling paper.

The Popup mechanism used for this card was actually a very basic technique, no fancy tools required. I made a long box, making sure the ends were perfectly square (basically a long square tube) I adhered the bottom and the back to the card, making sure that the card still folds flat when closed. I added three Penguins to the front of the box, and three penguins to the back of the card above the box.

Lastly, I added some bling with some rhinestones to accent some of the snowflakes and one of the outside, and one of the inside corners.

Thanks for joining me! I am a paper crafting enthusiast who has a special interest in interactive cards. I get a lot of inspiration from the internet so I thought that I  would throw out my own creations with hope that it inspires someone else.
