It’s challenge time, yes its Karen Burnistons design team challenge and this months challenge is to have “Hearts” on a card. I thought it would be fun to make a pair of Valentine cards using the Fancy Label Accordion , and have the Hearts Add ons hearts as chocolates.
All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.
1A- I diecut the hearts from the Hearts Add on, the circles (sorry I don’t remember exactly which circles but they should be close in size to the hearts) the swirls from the Raising Platform and the coffee beans from the Coffee Cup Pop up
B- I styled the diecuts to look like chocolates as shown. I added shading with a Versa Mark Marker, and highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen
2A-diecut 4 pink Fancy Label Accordion panels, and 4 from the patterned paper
B- I trimmed about 1/8” around all four sides and trimmed out the middle. I also sponged dark brown ink around the edges of the pattered paper. Add the pattered borders to the pink panels.
3A- I diecut the Heart Add on from thin cream cardstock. And cut out the hearts from the center.
B- using the largest die from the Fancy Label Accordion set, cut the centers out one at a time as shown.
C- die cut the Hearts add on from the same pink cardstock used for the base.
D- add the cream frame and hearts to the pink panels. I sponged the same brown ink around the edges as shown.
4A- take the 2 panels that will be the centers and trimmed as shown.
B- connect the 2 panels together and add the Hearts Add on Panel. I also add some of the chocolates.
C- add the outer panels. I had added the center labels from the patterned paper that I previously cut.
5A- die cut 3 of the large labels from the cream cardstock and sponge the edges with brown ink.
B- I cut the “hugs & kisses” and “xoxo” from Word Set 9 Love, and Happy Valentine’s Day , I added shading with a Versa Mark Marker, and highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen. I added them to the card as shown, I also added more of the chocolates
