Snack time- January release sneak peek

I love Sneak peek week, there are so many fun sets with this release I didn’t know which one to share first.

When I first saw the new Pop Corn set I thought it would pair nicely with the Coffee Cup Pop Up styled as a fountain pop, then I added some liquorice to finish the scene.

All the fun is in the reveal, to see this card in action please check out my FACEBOOK page, feel free to join if you would like to share your own crafty creations. You can also see a video of this card on my INSTAGRAM page.

I wanted this card to fit in a 5”x7” envelope and I knew it would be a bit on the thick side so I decided to make it 4 3/4” x 6 3/4” to give a little wiggle room. Cut the panels as shown below. I do have a typo, I cut 4 of the polka dot panels not 3.

Layer the panels and add to the cardbase, front, back, and inside.

I forgot to take photos as I was making it but I used the Coffee Cup Pop up to make the fountain pop cup (Karen has a video tutorial on the product page at the link ⬆️ ) . I cut it from white, then added brown for the pop. I added the “Soda Pop” by adding letters from the Mini Alphabet and Numbers to the blue band. I cut the straw from vellum and coloured the stripes from red sharpie. To make the straw look like it was inside the cup, on the section that is inside I coloured the stripes on the backside of the straw so the red isn’t as vibrant. I created the Pop Corn (Karen will have a video soon) and added it to the card using a Small Scenes Bam Box

I thought it was missing something and decided to make liquorice. I cut 2 strips, I didnt measure but not quite 1/2” x 5ish” )using alcohol markers I coloured diagonal stripes then I added shading with a Versa Mark Marker, and highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen. I added them and a few pieces of pop corn to the card.

I stamped the greeting from the new Popcorn Phrases stamp set and diecut a circle (from the Coffee Cup popup)and added inside the card.

Because of the Bam Box I had to have a closure. I thought I’d try something different. Sorry I didn’t measure, I cut the band from blue so it would wrap around the card with a slight over lap. I added the white layer then punched a hole on each end. To make the spacer I added an eyelet to a brad, on one side I added a string then added them to the band. I also added a white layer to the inside of the band to cover the back side of the brads. And glued the band to the back of the card with the flaps in the front.

I stamped another greeting from the same set, using a die from the Coffee Cup pop up, then layer on a blue circle cut with the Circles Crosshatch and added a few pieces of popcorn.

I thought I’d add a bit of interest but adding highlights to all the circles with a white Gelly Roll pen. I added a few more circles for a place to sign.
