Christmas in July Snowflake card ❄️C4C492

It’s C4C day and today’s challenge is to make a Christmas card, Honestly I have a hard time making Christmas this far in advance, I see people chatting about starting their Christmas cards early so they aren’t so rushed closer to the season but for some reason my brain does not really want to go there. I had actually jumped ahead and did next week’s card first and I still had some of the paper still sitting on my work table. I had originally thought I would water colour my card for next week but hadn’t so my palette with inks in it and paintbrush were still there so I played with it and a piece of watercolour paper, I grabbed my favourite snowflake stamp set, a KB die set and away I went.

ok, like I stated above I was playing with a piece of watercolour paper and some inks, the colours I had in my pallet were Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, and Pool Party and I had water in the middle section.

I started by wetting my paper with water then dropped some of the colour, letting it move around, I helped it a bit with my paint brush and I came up with this. Apparently I’m a messy painter 🤷‍♀️

I liked what I came up with so I decided to keep on with this colour palette, I used the same colours of card stock and my Karen Burniston Tag book pop-up die-set and started cutting.

I assembles the card base out of Pool Party Cardstock and the mechanism out of Coastal Cabana and assembled it as per Karen’s Video

I used Versamark Ink and I stamped the snowflakes on to the Bermuda Bay tag pieces, and sprinkled on some Silver Embossing powder

Then I heated it up with my heat tool, and melted the embossing powder

I started assembling the tags and frames and adding them to the card

Then I added Bermuda Bay accent pieces

I went back to my watercolour piece, and I rounded two of the corners with an older Creative Memories corner punch and cut the piece down to 2 3/4″ x 2 1/2″

I cut a piece of brushed silver cardstock (retired Stampin Up) to 3″ x 2 3/4″, and I rounded 2 of the corners.

I stamped and heat embossed the watercolour paper with the same snowflake set I used to samp the inside tags. I glued the water coloured piece to the silver piece and added a thin silver band to the right side

I cut out Merry Christmas out of Bermuda Bay 3 times and glued them one on top of each other. (Garage sale die)

I cut several snow flakes out of the Brushed Silver cardstock.

I adhered the Merry Christmas to the front and the snowflakes randomly through out the card

I went through my ribbon stash and found four different ribbons, 1 silver and the other 2 in Coastal Cabana and in a similar blue but not Stampin up,

I chose 2 ribbons to go on the outside tags front and back, and 2 for the inside tags front and back

I found itty bitty little gems stones that are actually meant for fancy manicures but are perfect for highlighting snowflakes.

I didn’t leave my self room for a greeting on the inside so I made a fancy tag for the back panel and decorated it with the same products I used throughout the card
