“Cheers to you” Beachy Birthday

Here is a beach themed card that I made a little while back for a friend who loves her beachy vacations, so I thought she would enjoy this card. She enjoys her rum & coke so that is what Rocky the Crab is enjoying as well.

Rocky the Crab is hanging out in his Adirondack Chair, both are dies from Karen Burniston, Rocky is discontinued but may be available on eBay and the Chair is available on Karen’s website. Directions on assembling the chair can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnB3GiIAgLo&t=18s  The palm trees that I used are from Karen Burniston as well, this style is retired but she has new a new palm tree set.

All the cardstock is from Stampin’ Up, the colours used are Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Garden Green, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black, and Soft Suede. The cloud paper was a SU paper pack from a while back. The stamps are also from Stampin’ Up, and the alcohol markers used to colour in the word “Cake” and the Rum & Coke were from Stampin’ Up as well, they were the original alcohol markers they used to have, they have since revamped them. The stacking dies used to make the big tag on the front were a set I purchased from SU as were the speech bubble dies.

When the card was mostly done, the front seemed to missing something so I used an Early Espresso marker and hand drew a border, in retrospect, I would have done something a little different maybe embossed the front or sponged a darker border, but my friend seemed to like it so all is well 🙂
