“Through the Stones” Birthday Card

Happy New Year, I am going to start the year off with a Birthday card that I made for a friend. She and I are both fans of this period show primarily based in 18th Century Scotland so when I saw this stamp set I knew it would make the perfect card for her.

To make this fun card I used the “Travel Through the Stones” stamp set from Kindred Stamps, and I coloured them using my Chameleon alcohol markers. Like I have said in previous posts, alcohol marker colouring is not my strong suit but I try. I looked on the Kindred Stamps website to see how others have coloured them and tried my best. I hand drew the grass on the bottom and the hill/skyline.

The cardstock I used is from Stampin’ Up, the colours I used are Night of Navy, Soft Sky, and Whisper White. The whole front panel is Whisper White and I coloured all of the background as well as the stamped images.

The Birthday greeting on the front is a die from my stash. I cut it out three times and layered them to give the greeting some depth. A trick I learned watching Jennifer McGuire Youtube videos.

The gold thread around the base of the card is also from my stash.
