Triple Layer Snowflake Card ❄️

This is a fun easy technique that can be used for any occasion. This card is perfect for beginners as it uses minimal supplies and the instructions are pretty easy to follow. This style of a card can be used for any occasion,  in any colour, and with most stamps.

All the supplies used to create this card are from Stampin’ Up. Cardstock colours used are Island Indigo and Whisper White. Ink colours used are Island Indigo, Pool Party, Pink Pirouette, and Smoky Slate. Dazzling Details was also used. The finished card is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. I’m sorry I didn’t take note of the other measurements and this card was already given away. 😦

For this card, I started off with three white squares, a large one, a medium one, and a small one. Using a temporary adhesive layer the squares on top of each other, placing them in the middle of each other biggest to smallest. I started with a script stamp and using the Smoky Slate ink I stamped in the ink, then I stamped on scrap paper to stamp off a little of the ink so the colour isn’t too intense, then I stamped it on the white cardstock randomly. Next, using the largest snowflake and the Island Indigo ink I stamped the cardstock randomly. Pool Party ink and the medium snowflake were next, then the smallest snowflake with the Pink Pirouette ink. I stamped each stamp randomly, making sure to go over the edges so the snowflakes will be on different levels when the card is complete.

Next, I cut the mats, each mat is 1/4″ larger than the stamped square it goes behind. The largest stamped square will be attached to the card base, then center the medium matt, then the medium stamped square, the smallest matt, then the smallest stamped square, using a permanent adhesive. Make sure the stamped images line up as that gives it the clean finished look as opposed to a collage kind of look (which is fine too, but not the look I was going for with this card)

The sentiment can be stamped right on the card if desired, but I stamped mine onto a white diecut using the Island Indigo ink, I then decorated it using the above-listed stamps and ink colours. I matted the sentiment onto a larger diecut of the same shape in the Indigo cardstock and adhered it to the card. I used dazzling details to add some glitter to around the sentiment and to highlight some of the snowflakes. Liquid glue and glitter will have a similar effect.
